USA is in the top position with most numbers of aircraft, helicopters and serviceable airports. The 'United States Air Force', air force of USA have currently 15,293 aircraft, 6,655 helicopters and about 15,000 serviceable airports. The USA Air Force recently involved in many events throughout the world but the main goal remains unchanged , ' bringing peace and democracy all over the world'. USA has managed to hold such like power as USA military expenditure is also in top position in Top Ten Military Budget in The World
Russia holds the 2nd position with total aircraft of 4,274 , 1,426 numbers of helicopters and 1,200 serviceable airports. After the world war II , there began a cold war in between USA and Russia. From that time in all areas both wanted to overtake another. However the defense budget of Russia is far more behind than that of USA. Yet Russia has managed to increase power with many updated weapons.
This Asian giant is gradually increasing its power in all areas. The People's Liberation of Air Force, air force of China have 2,743 aircraft, 96 helicopters, 473 serviceable airports. Chinese aggressive policy is perhaps the most discussed topic in the world. Territorial conflict with neighboring countries frequently brings out in the front page of news paper.
The Indian Air Force, Air force of India was founded in 1932. Now according to air force power it is in the 4th position followed by USA, Russia and China. Despite being low military budgets( comparing to other top countries) India has now 1,962 aircraft , 559 helicopters and 352 serviceable airports. India and China, this two developing Asian countries are now the biggest concern of the western countries.
Iran has taken the 5th position as the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force ( IRIAF ) has the strength of 1,858 aircraft, 800 helicopters and 320 serviceable airports. Iran imports aircraft and helicopters from USA, Russia and China mainly. The Imperial Iranian Air Force was formed in 1925 later in 1980 the name was changed and renamed as IRIAF.
The Korean's People Army Air Force stands in 6th position with 1,667 aircraft, 237 helicopters and 82 serviceable airports. After the Korean War, both N.Korea and S.Korea concentrated to increase their military strength. Though N.Korea is facing a struggling economy comparing to S.Korea, it is heard that N.Korea has a plan to increase its defense budget to one-third of its total income.
The Pakistan Air Force( PAF ) was established in 1947 and currently it is in 7th position in our list with 1,531 aircraft, 589 helicopters and serviceable 151 airports. Pakistan is now facing a lot of internal problems like terrorist activity, political disturbance etc. but she has managed to hold such power despite having poor economy.
The Turkish Air Force, air force of Turkey having 1,512 aircraft, 570 helicopters and 98 serviceable airports is in 8th position in the list. It has involved in many wars like War of Independence, Iraq Cross-border Raids, Korean War, Operation Northern Iraq etc.
The Royal Air Force ( RAF ) was established in 1918. Though UK is in number 4th spot according to defense budget, it holds the 9th position in this list as it has 1,412 aircraft, 367 helicopters and 460 serviceable airports.
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force( JASDF ), branch of Japan Self-Defense Forces started its activity since 1954. It is in 10th spot with having 1,252 aircraft, 258 helicopters and 175 serviceable airports.
